Precision Plus Protein™ Prestained Standards are available in Dual Color, All Blue, Kaleidoscope™, and Dual Xtra options. All four standards have the same gel migration patterns, with three high-intensity reference bands (25, 50, and 75 kD).

New and Improved Dual Color Standards:

  • Brighter for easier identification of target protein
  • Sharper for more accurate molecular weight estimation
  • Stronger band intensity throughout blot development

The overall brightness of Precision Plus Dual Color Standards has been increased for visual robustness throughout the entire protein electrophoresis and western blotting workflow. Improved Dual Color Standards are now brighter than the competition on both gels and blots.

Dual Xtra Standards

Dual Xtra Standards consist of 12 recombinant proteins between 2 and 250 kD; all others consist of 10 recombinant proteins between 10 and 250 kD (note that the 2 kD band is not visible on fluorescent blots).

Kaleidoscope Standards

Kaleidoscope Standards are a mixture of ten recombinant proteins in four colors (blue, pink, yellow, and green; 10–250 kD), enabling easy gel and blot orientation via the multicolor pattern.

FAQs

What is the prestained protein standard? ›

The Color Prestained Protein Standard, Broad Range is a mixture of highly pure, recombinant, prestained proteins, covalently coupled with a blue chromophore, and two reference bands (one orange and one green at 72 kDa and 26 kDa, respectively), that resolves into 11 sharp bands when electrophoresed.

What are the prestained protein molecular weight standards? ›

Prestained Protein Ladder ab116028 is a three-color protein standard with 12 pre-stained proteins covering a wide range of molecular weights from 10 to 245 kDa.

What is prestained protein marker? ›

The PL00001 Prestained Protein Marker is designed for monitoring protein separation during SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, verification of Western transfer efficiency on membranes, (PVDF, nylon, or nitrocellulose) and for estimating the size of proteins.

What are Precision Plus protein prestained standards? ›

Precision Plus Protein All Blue Standards are a mixture of ten blue-stained recombinant proteins (10–250 kD), including three reference bands (25, 50, and 75 kD). These standards can be used for fluorescent blot detection at red wavelengths (635 nm laser or red LED).

What is the purpose of the prestained standards? ›

Prestained standards allow direct visualization of the proteins' migration during electrophoresis and are useful to assess their subsequent transfer to membranes. Prestained standards can be used for size estimation, however unstained protein standards are recommended for the most accurate size determination.

What is the most bioavailable protein? ›

1. Whey Protein – Whey is the most bioavailable source of protein.

What are dual Xtra prestained protein standards? ›

Precision Plus Protein Dual Xtra Standards are a mixture of 12 recombinant proteins (2–250 kD), including nine blue-stained bands and three pink reference bands (2, 25, and 75 kD). These standards can be detected by fluorescence when excited at red and green wavelengths.

What is considered a high molecular weight protein? ›

Many high-molecular-mass (HMM) proteins (MW>100 kDa) are known to be involved in cytoskeleton, defence and immunity, transcription and translation in higher eukaryotic organisms.

What is color coded prestained protein marker broad range? ›

Color-coded Prestained Protein Marker, Broad Range (10-250 kDa) is a mixture of purified proteins, covalently coupled to blue, green or orange dyes, that resolves to 11 bands between 10 and 250 kDa when subjected to electrophoresis. The protein concentrations are carefully balanced for even intensity.

What is prestained protein marker high range? ›

Color-coded Prestained Protein Marker, High Range (43-315 kDa) is a mixture of purified proteins, covalently coupled to blue, green, orange, or pink dyes, that resolves to 8 bands between 43 and 315 kDa when electrophoresed. The protein concentrations are carefully balanced for even intensity.

What is the difference between prestained and unstained protein ladders? ›

The difference between an unstained protein ladder and a prestained protein ladder is that unstained ladders require additional staining post electrophoresis. Prestained ladders are prestained with dyes for better visualization and tracking during electrophoresis.

What is the purpose of having a protein marker standard? ›

Protein molecular weight markers, sometimes referred to as protein standards or protein ladders, are used to estimate the molecular weight of proteins of interest and to monitor the progress of electrophoretic separation or transfer in Western blotting.

What are the kaleidoscope precision plus protein standards? ›

Precision Plus Protein Kaleidoscope Standards are a mixture of ten multicolored recombinant proteins (10–250 kD). These standards can be detected by fluorescence when excited at appropriate wavelengths.

What is PDI protein? ›

Protein disulfide isomerase (EC 5.3. 4.1), or PDI, is an enzyme in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in eukaryotes and the periplasm of bacteria that catalyzes the formation and breakage of disulfide bonds between cysteine residues within proteins as they fold.

What is GMP protein? ›

What is a GMP Protein? The proteins are manufactured under guidelines that allow for their use as ancillary materials in cell therapy or for further manufacturing processes. GMP proteins also come with extensive documentation and traceability, as well as additional quality control testing.

What is the bioavailability of a protein? ›

Protein bioavailability refers to how well your body utilises a specific type of protein. A protein is considered high bioavailable if it is easy to digest, absorb and make into other proteins.

What is the difference between unstained and prestained protein ladder? ›

We recommend using unstained protein ladders for molecular weight estimation applications as prestained ladders have a dye that is covalently bound to each protein that will result in the ladder migrating differently in different buffer systems (i.e., different gels).

What is the standard for protein quality? ›

Quality will be dictated by where the tested protein's DIAAS score falls within the scale. Specific brackets are recommended below: No protein quality claim – Score of <75% Good protein quality – Score ranging from 75% to 99%

What is the best absorbed protein? ›

So then what is the fastest absorbing protein? Whey protein is the most popular fast absorbing protein. Its absorption rate has been estimated at roughly 10 grams per hour. At this rate, it takes just 2 hours to fully absorb a 20 gram-dose of whey.
