Is it OK to book flights through Google? ›

Google acts only as an intermediary to securely pass your info to the airline or travel agency and isn't a party to the transaction. If you're logged in to your Google Account, you can complete the booking quickly and securely with the contact and payment info stored in your account.

Google Flights is a reliable, legitimate, and trustworthy site for flight searching. In general, its prices are accurate and reflect the same prices as you'll find on the airline websites and other OTAs. However, in rare instances, Google Flights prices are wrong, or more accurately, the price info is outdated.

You can find cheap flight deals to anywhere in the world on Google Flights. Just enter your departure city, choose Anywhere as the destination and select Explore. You can pick specific dates or leave departure and return dates blank if your plans are flexible. The cheapest fares to popular destinations will appear.

Not all airlines or available flights are included, as a partnership with Google is required. Most of these partners provide Google with all prices and flight options that they would show on their own websites or through third-party sites.

Bottom line: Google Flights and Skyscanner are two of the best sites for searching for flights. Both have some great functionality, but each also has some areas for improvement. That's why we often recommend pairing multiple search sites to ensure you're getting the best deal.

While booking your flight on a Sunday helps you get the lowest price, actually flying on a Thursday may help you save an average of 16 percent off airfare. Data shows that, almost across the board, travelers who flew on Thursdays instead of Sunday saved this much on both domestic and international flights.

Go to Google Flights. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the drop-down menus for language, country, and currency. To choose a language, click Language and make a selection. To choose a currency, click Currency and make a selection.

Some flights might not show up when: The flights are sold out or unavailable. The carrier hasn't yet been added to Google Flights.

Allowing for separate tickets means that you may need to book two one-way flights rather than a round-trip flight, though Google will only highlight these results if they're cheaper than a single-ticket itinerary.

If you're a loyal customer of a particular airline, making a direct booking will allow you to get the most value for your money and take advantage of the benefits associated with the loyalty program you belong to. If you book directly with the airline, you'll have immediate access to the customer support.
