- Majors: Also known as Bachelor’s degrees. When studying fulltime, they are typically 4 year programs that end in a degree ready for the workforce. Ask an advisor about how to stay on track to graduate in 4 years.

Guaranteed Admission Requirements
- Students who have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Students age 20 and over with a high school diploma or a GED score of 145 or higher on all four sections.
Reviewed Admission
- All other applicants will be reviewed for admission with an official high school transcript, a personal statement and an optional letter of recommendation.
- What we look at your academic record, courses taken, factors that may have influenced your academic performance and activities you’re involvement in. Please share information you feel is important.

Enrollment and financial aid may be impacted if you do not complete these next steps in a timely manner, so be sure to work through this checklist soon!
Set up your MSU Denver student account
Access your MSU Denver NetID to set up your student email account and the Student Hub, by using the My First Login tool.
You will need your Student ID number, which can be found in your electronic and mailed acceptance letter, or within your Application Status Portal.
Submit Official and Final Transcripts
MSU Denver makes admissions decisions with unofficial and self-reported academic information. When you applied to MSU Denver, you may have uploaded unofficial transcripts to your application account. After admission, official transcripts are required for review and record keeping. Please request your official GED scores or official high school transcript to be sent to our office. Additionally, once your final grades and date of graduation are posted, please request your final official transcript to be sent. Learn more about how to send your transcripts to MSU Denver.
Take or Submit Assessment Exams
Test scores are optional, but if you have transfer credits or ACT/SAT test scores, you may be exempt from an assessment exam in Math and/or English. You may also complete the First Year Writing Self-Directed Placement for enrollment in a First Year Writing course. You should complete any required assessments before Orientation. Learn more about testing requirements.
Register for and attend Orientation
As a new student, you are required to attend an orientation session before you are able to register for classes. Sign up early to secure your spot!
Meet with an academic advisor
You will meet with an academic advisor during your orientation session in order to select classes; however, if you would like additional advising following orientation, you canfind your advisor and make an appointment.
Register for classes
You will register for classes during orientation. If you are unable to register at that time, you may register for classes on your Student Hub, which is where you can edit your schedule, too.
Apply for and check your financial aid and scholarships
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by using MSU Denver’s school code 001360. MSU Denver also offers scholarships awards based on academics, achievement and financial need. Undocumented and DACA students should complete the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) for state aid. Access your financial aid and scholarship award in your account on your Student Hub. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at [emailprotected]for any questions.
*Changes are coming to the 2024-25 FAFSA and CASFA called the FAFSA Simplification Act. The 2024-25 application will open in December 2023.
Authorize the COF Stipend
Colorado residents qualify for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend which pays for a portion of the in-state tuition on every course credit you take.
Get Your Books and Student ID
Visit the Tivoli Station Bookstore and purchase books and supplies as well as get your Student ID card.
Pay Your Tuition
Pay tuition and fees via the Student Hub or at the Cashier’s Office located in the Jordan Student Success Building, by 5 p.m. on the Friday before classes begin.
Health Insurance and Immunizations
Health Insurance is a mandatory fee. Those with alternate coverage can waive this fee if you are paying out of pocket.
All students are also required to submit their immunization records. Review the Immunization Requirements.
Selective Service System
In accordance with federal law, all male-assigned at birth students must register for selective service.
