Some friends want to throw me a baby shower/sprinkle and I’m not really wanting one. I know I need to be honest, don’t want to hurt feelings how would you state this?
Also if you’re a second time mom are you having a shower/sprinkle?

Hey second time mama here it’s been almost ten years
We need all the things but to be honest it just sounds like so much work and I’m not about being the center of attention. I totally want to celebrate this baby but I’m not sure if I want to do a shower this time around I just really want to keep it simple.

I’d be honest with them. My MIL and SIL are throwing me a sprinkle and I’m kinda of an attention w**** so I don’t mind it.

STM and we’re having a baby sprinkle but I want one! If you don’t want one just let them know or maybe ask them to do something low key like a small brunch with just your closest friends:) all of my family and friends live out of state so this is my one opportunity to get together and celebrate baby but if I saw them all the time I’d probably be less inclined to do something big

I had my son last May and am expecting twins in August! We are doing a celebratory brunch that my best friend/mom are hosting, but I was very explicit that I do not want gifts. Diapers/wipes at the very most.
While we need more of everything since there will be two I don’t feel comfortable with people buying us stuff again after just doing so last year! We’ll get what we need on FB marketplace but I am excited to at least celebrate the pregnancy and babies!

Use it for mostly diapers and wipes! We did a diaper drive thru sprinkle for my second. We got mostly diapers and wipes, but got some cute things to refresh like more bottles and stuff.

My friends offered to help me with one but I said I didn’t want one. I planned my last one alone with my husband and it was so much work I honestly didn’t enjoy it and felt like it was more of a party for everyone else and not the baby. Only ended up getting a few boxes of diapers. I’m also having another boy and my first is only 16 months so I have all the stuff minus the diapers. So I won’t be having a shower or sprinkle this time around.

Say it honestly, the more you try to be nive and gentle or whatever the kore they think they can push you to do things you dont want to do.

I am not having a shower or sprinkle this time around. Even though I sort of wish I was! I’m having another boy and in turn don’t need anything other than diapers or wipes. I like the idea of a celebratory brunch of sorts though.
Let your friends know it’s not necessary to have one, if they REALLY insist, then suggest something small and intimate. Definitely be honest. Don’t make them go through all the effort if you’re not wanting it

Maybe Just tell them you’d prefer to not have a shower/sprinkle, but maybe offer a solution like a mom/girl lunch/brunch and no gifts required unless they feel inclined but you’d prefer not a full shower. Or just be honest and say you’re not really up for it but thank them for being thoughtful

I’d love one! There was some talk about throwing me a diaper party at church but we’ll see.
I just had my first in 2022 so it’s not been very long for me. I’m not a fan of being center of attention, but I know how helpful showers can be and I would love that!
